Know-how

Foreword on perfumery :

This obscure science, this luminous art...

Perfumery above all crosses arts and sciences.
The creativity, the emotivity and the knowledge of the odorous molecules are necessary in the development of a perfume. The perfume, intimate mixture, illuminates the memory. It remains the shortest way to cause emotions, or to revive them. The sense of smell is without compromise the related one to the hedonism (don' we say : "Arrgh it's stink! "or" Hum, that smells good!). If there's a sense which is expressed with grimaces and forces onomatopoeias, it's the sense of smell.
That's why it's necessary to know the odorous compounds which surround us to make pleasant perfumes, with an evocative force near to the conscience and the unconscious one.

Here odorous compounds that l'Atelier Bohème uses  to elaborate its creations ...

Compounds :

Natural raw materials :

They are essential oils, resinoid and absolutes. They are obtained directly from the plants (flowers, loaf, shavings, sap, peels of citrus fruits...) and in less measurement from animals.
For ethical reasons, l'Atelier Bohème  don't use any animal compounds.

The incomparable advantage that gives the natural raw materials lies in their olfactive power and complexity.

However, it should be noted that the processes of extraction of these raw materials, don't make it possible to restore the in-situ scent of the plant. These processes allow  to obtain a concentrate, a mixture of molecules from the plant. However this concentrate doesn't got the proper quantities of the various molecules which would make it possible to restore the natural scent.

To cure this fact, the raw materials are split, until isolating the molecules from interest, and making it possible amongst other things to reproduce a scent much nearer to nature.

Moreover there's certain plant, such as lily of the valley, the lilac, which cannot be extracted. Only the formulation of their scent starting from odorous molecules makes it possible to obtain their perfumes.

The odorous molecules :

They are the smallest odorous entities used in perfumery.
The natural raw materials natural, herebefore seen, are made up of a more or less complex mixture of odorous molecules. (up to 300 in the essential oil of vetiver).
By isolating these molecules or by reproducing them, we get pure compounds.
From these compounds, all creation in perfumery are possible.

We can choose :
  • to reproduce the most accurately the natural scents
  • to interpret nature, as a painter interprets reality with his perception, his sensitivity.
  • to combine various scents to suggest of them news, more abstract (technic mainly used for the perfumes of luxury)

In order to develop the quality of our creations, all our perfumes use natural raw materials, which bring an additional style to them.

L'Atelier Bohème creations :

To their compounds :

We choose all our raw materials carefully, and develop an ethics with regard to the animals. All our perfumes contain raw materials natural, and particularly essential oils. Moreover some of our ranges contain exclusively natural compounds.

To their originality :

All our perfumes are original creations. We conceived our ranges in order to offer products with new scents.

To their olfactive estheticism :

Our products answer above all to an esthetic value. Indeed our scents have a very natural style, as a result of our know-how and our knowledge in the field.
Moreover we stick ourselves on the emotions and the evocative capacity which the odors cause, in order to propose the best perfumes to you. Thus each fragrance is created around principal topics, of which we make you share in the menus of the scents.
